Community event rules

Events should help students settle, learn, or connect—not sell immigration services or guaranteed outcomes.

Allowed

Orientation socials, cultural nights, study jams, career workshops hosted by campus offices or recognized associations.

Paid “visa guarantee” seminars, unverified housing brokers, or events that collect passports/fees without a clear refund policy.

If an event asks for sensitive documents or irreversible payments, leave and tell your international office.

  • Prefer university domains and association emails over personal payment links.
  • Bring a friend to off-campus meetups and meet in public places.
